However, when it comes to the most expensive cars in the world, surprisingly, none of these vehicles actually make the list in 2013.

1.       Maybach Exelero

$8 Million

This impressive sports car is the most expensive car in the world at the moment. With only one unit of production, this German made car has a V12 twin-turbo engine with 700 horsepower. It can reach a maximum speed of 351 km/h. This car was designed with the help of college students and even featured in a Jay-Z music video.

2.       Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita

$4.8 Million

This modified 4.7 litre, twin supercharged V8 engine car is capable of an astonishing 1,018 horsepower! Only 3 units were ever made with one of the owners being late night talk show host Jay Leno.

3.       Lamborghini Veneno

$4 millon

Arguably considered one of the strongest cars on the road, this Lamborghini car was limited to only 3 units. It features a 6.5 litre V12 DOHC engine with 750 horsepower and a maximum speed of 355 km/h.

4.       Lamborghini Egoista

$3.9 millon

The Lamborghini Egoista was created in celebration of Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. It can draw 600 horsepower out of a 5.2 litre V10 engine. Only one model has been made and features a center-mounted cockpit that is actually removable!

5.       Lykan Hypersport

$3.4 millon

A Lebanese car manufacturer only produced 7 units of this super car. Customers could choose from rubies or diamonds to be embedded in the headlights. With 740 horsepower and a top speed of 394.3 km/h, the cars aren’t expected to be released until this November.

6.       Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

$2.4 million

This is the fastest street legal production car available in 2013. With a booming 8.0 litre W16 cylinder, turbocharged engine, this ridiculous car has a horse power of 1200! With a top speed of 430 km/h, this Bugatti can cover 0-100 km/h in only 2.5 seconds.

7.       Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

$2.2 million

The Sesto Elemento boasts a 5.2 litre V10 engine capable of generating up to 570 horsepower. It can go from 0-100 km/h in under 2.5 seconds. Only 20 units of this model were released with each unit made primarily out of carbon fibre.

8.       Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport

$2 million

This monster of a car boasts an 8 litre W16 quad-turbocharged engine capable of generating up to a heart stopping 1001 horsepower. The car is named after Pierre Veyron who was the company’s former test driver who won the 24 hours of Le Mans I n1939. It has a top speed of almost 408 km/h

 

9.       Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster

$1.85 million

Italian manufacturer Pagani made 5 units of this Mercedes Benz AMG Turbo V12 car. It has 678 horsepower and can reach a maximum speed of 349 km/h. This two-door roadster can travel 0-100 kp/h in under 3.4 seconds.

10.   Aston Martin One-77

$1.8 million

With only 77 units produced, this sleek and beautifully designed car has 750 horsepower and can reach a maximum speed of 354 km/h. It features a 7.3 litre V12 engine. With a design that screams elegance and power, this car is quintessential Aston Martin.
