Late To The Shark Week Party: Check Out This [Infographic]

Shark Week just passed and we’re a manliness blog that didn’t jump in on the action? Come’on! I feel embarrassed. Please forgive us for this massive oversight.

I’m thoroughly ashamed. I’ve eaten sharkmeat, I’ve pet a shark, and I’ve even held one in my arms. (Albeit it was a dead one I walked upon on a beach in El Salvador. I was 18 and, just, well I made weird decisions then).

Celebrate in the joys of one of God’s coolest creations: Sharks. Check out this Shark Week Infographic and check out my personal highlights from the read:

  • Largest shark can grow up to 60 feet
  • Maximum shark speed: 31 MPH
  • Can “shed” up to 30,000 teeth in their lifetime
  • Hippos kills more people each year than sharks and alligators combined!

And my last note: each year I swim with Tiger Sharks at La Jolla Shores in San Diego. They’re small, cool, and not dangerous! Next year, hit me up and we’re celebrate Shark Week in style down here in SoCal.

Comments

  1. I love shark week. Most of the shows are so interesting and it’s hard to stop watching.

  2. Never really got into the shark week craze, but they are doing great with branding and marketing because I hear the show being mentioned everywhere. Good info graphic.

    • You know I don’t pay for cable so I’ve never actually watched Shark Week. Even still, it’s fascinating how big the craze has gotten!

  3. Great graphic! I am addicted to Shark Week 🙂

  4. Might be time to hit up the Tiger Sharks again! Last time out I didn’t see any.

  5. My partner, J, is fascinated with sharks. He’s terrified of going into ocean water, thinking that a bull shark will pull him under and drown him. It’s ridiculous.
