Dating someone new is always fun and exciting. After all, there are so many possibilities for where your relationship could go. Dating can also be very expensive, especially if you’re a student. Now, before you rush out to get one of those payday loans online, check out these inexpensive date ideas. Everyone wants to make a good impression and if you’re running low in the money department, you’ll have to get creative. To help you out, we’ve put together a list of great date ideas that are a lot of fun but not a lot of money.

1. Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to spend time together without the added pressure of having to entertain each other. Plus, there are so many different volunteer opportunities from working in a soup kitchen to working at a huge sporting event or music festival. In fact, with some festivals, you receive free passes to the event after working so many hours. So in fact, this can become two dates in one!

2. A Picnic

When was the last time you went on a picnic? It might seem a bit corny but it’s an easy date idea that you can dress up anyway you like.  Are you more of a sporty couple? Ride your bikes to a secluded spot. Are you more relaxed? Plan your picnic in an urban park where there is some free entertainment like an amateur baseball game or a band. Put a little effort into your lunch by including some fancy cheeses and maybe (laws permitting), a bottle of wine. This will turn an ordinary trip to the park into a date-worthy event.

3. Window Shopping

Window shopping when you’re broke is not fun. However, hitting up the flea market and vintage stores can be. There are so many conversation starters from the childhood toys you’re likely to come across to the inevitable Elvis memorabilia. There is absolutely no pressure to buy anything and if you do fall in love with something, it’s likely you’ll be able to afford it.

4. Bowling

Bowling may be a dating cliché, but it’s a cliché for a reason – it’s a lot of fun and it’s affordable! When you’re wearing funny shoes, drinking cheap beer, and the black light is on, how could you not have a good time?

5. Book readings

If you’re a book lover, few places are as enchanting as your local library or your favourite bookstore. Bookstores offer a lot of free activities including book readings from local and internationally known authors. Be sure to subscribe to your store’s mailing list (and follow them on social media) to keep current with their events.

6. Get on the list!

Many sports and arts organizations offer opportunities for people to check them out for little to no cost. These include open rehearsals for arts groups to public practices for sports teams. Although these events are often open to the public, they might not be heavily advertised. Do some digging in your city to see what’s available. Not sure if you and your date want to spend three hours at the opera? These free rehearsals give you the chance to sample what they have to offer before you splash out on a full priced ticket.

7.  Road Trip in your own city

Heading out for a cup of coffee at your local café is safe and it can be a little bit boring. Why not head to the other side of town and check out the cafés and coffeehouses they have to offer? It takes an ordinary date into an adventure.

8. Cook

Instead of going out, why don’t you stay in and cook a proper meal together? You can teach your date how to make your signature BBQ baby back ribs or you can both try out a new brownie recipe you’ve been dying to try.

So here we are. Eight great date ideas that won’t break the bank. If nothing here really tickles your fancy then you still might want to consider one of those payday loans online at Northcash.com

Of course, these are just a few of the many ways you can stretch a dollar while dating.  What are you favourite low-cost dating ideas? If you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments below.
