1.       SLOW DOWN

The largest speeding fine ever was $1,000,000 and was received by a 37-year-old Swedish man who was clocked at 290 kph on a motorway between Bern and Lausanne in Switzerland. Yes it is a hefty fine, however seemingly normal in Switzerland, a country where the penalty fits the crime and the person’s wealth.

2.       MOST EXPENSIVE CAR

The most expensive car ever sold was the Mercedes Benz W196 for a whopping $US29,607,760 in 2013.

4.       THE DUBAI POLICE

The Dubai police fleet includes a Lamborghini, Ferrari and Bentley. According to them, fast cars allow them to catch speed offenders on the road. Unfortunately the fact is that this is more of a PR exercise. Dubai wants to look glamorous. Did we mention that all the top cars are driven by female officers?

5.       DRIVE ME TO THE MOON

Unbelievably, it would take around six months to reach the moon if you could drive straight upwards at almost 100 Kph.

6.       A GREAT PAINT JOB

The design head of Corvette wanted the Mako Shark Corvette painted to look like the shark mounted in his office. When the design team couldn’t match the colors, they stole the shark, painted it to look like the car and of course, the design head was happy with the results.

7.       IT’S ALL IN THE MIND

Still in prototype stage, a car was developed in 2011 by a team of German scientists which can be driven entirely by mind power alone.

8.       ARE FERRARI WORKERS LAZY?

Ferrari only produces a maximum of 14 cars per day due to the complexities required of each model. When there are 165,000 cars produced a day, some might think Ferrari workers are just being little lazy.

9.       IS THERE ROOM?

In 2010, 19 people from the city of Karachi (Pakistan) broke the record for the most people to be crammed into a smart car.

10.   LOVE THE COUNTRY SIDE

In 2012, a team of four travelers set a new world record by travelling to 17 countries in less than 24 hours. Yvo Kuhling (Netherlands), Liselott Martynenko Agerlid (Sweden), Philomena O’Brien (Australia) and Todd Hepworth (Australia) began in Bosnia and ended in the Netherlands in 23 hours and 30 minutes.
