Fearless Men’s Weekly Round-Up | April 11th, 2013

Cubs

Wrigley Field, Opening Day 2013

Hi All! Another busy week!Baseball season has started and with that Fantasy Baseball. I’m in 2 keeper leagues this year and it’s already looking to keep me busier than I hoped. For those who don’t know I am a Cubs fan and it looks like another potential 100+ loss season. But….I’m not worrying. I got a bag full of hope. I am a Cubs fan afterall and we got Theo.

Last Friday I had shoulder surgery to clean up some bone spurs. The best part is that within 3 months I’ll be able to play sports again. The agonizing part aside from the pain is having to do physical therapy 3 times a week for the next 2-3 months. At the end of the day though I’m not complaining because I’ll come out the other end like Hercules, or maybe Michael Jordan (Check out his “Failure” Nike commercial if you haven’t seen it. It motivates me!).

This past week I guest posted twice. That’s a record for me! Thank you Michelle, and Greg and Holly.

  1. Thanks so much for the mention John, I really appreciate it. Sorry to hear you’re a Cubs fan. My family is all from Chicago and it’s always interesting to see the excitement only to be followed up by another bad season. 😉 If you can’t tell, I am a White Sox fan. 🙂 That said, there’s no better place to take in a game than at Wrigley.

    • It’s not that bad being a Cubs fan. 🙂 Every year we know what to expect so we just enjoy it. When we win it’ll be icing on the cake!

  2. I haven’t been able to get myself into following baseball since the strike in the 90’s. Any group that gets paid millions of dollars doesn’t have any right to complain about salary in my book. But back in the day, I was a Braves fan. That was back when they were, as my grandfather would put it, the strongest team in their division. Because they were on the bottom holding everybody else above them. 🙂

Hope you are feeling better after your surgery.

    • I agree with you about their complaining. They do it in all sports and only with these millionaires does a contract have a different definition. I support the team first, than the player.

  3. Thanks for the mention! Been a Padres fan myself since I was a kid. I remember going to old Jack Murphy stadium with my Grandpa and watching Tony Gwyn, Jack Clark, the Alomar’s…those were the days!

    • I’d imagine it be tougher to be a Padres fan. Petco Park is beautiful and great place for a date. What do you think of Quentin’s action lastnight?

  4. Thanks for including me in our own roundup!! haha

  5. Thank you much for the mention John. Good luck with the rehab, I know that can be tough. Hopefully you will get through it and come out better than ever. Have a good weekend.

  6. John, good luck with your physical therapy and fantasy league. Also, thanks for the mention and have a great weekend.

  7. It was my pleasure. Hope you enjoy the weekend.

  8. I actually wanted to be a physical therapist for about 5 minutes. You have to do tons of volunteer hours with a PT to get into school, and I realized that people hate doing therapy, so it really sucked for the therapist. Eyes are much more fun! Thanks for including me.
