Fearless Men’s Weekly Round-Up | November 29th, 2012

Fearless MenHope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving Day last week. It was my first time cooking a turkey and thankfully it turned out delicious! I know some of you were worried. haha! I went with the turkey bag in the oven strategy and it was much easier than I thought it would be. I bought a pre-brined turkey and after some other prep placed it in the oven and played some Call of Duty with my brother.  Four hours later came out this juicy, golden 20lb turkey. We ate half of it and had turkey sandwiches for days after. I think on Friday I actually had leftovers all 3 meals. How about you all?

I had a bit of a revelation for round-up articles. From now on the first ones I’m going to grab are from those who have commented on FM. We’ll still include other interesting articles but the first ones will be from commentluv. This way we can reward you all and also hopefully encourage others to start commenting.

  1. Thanks so much for the mention John! Glad to hear your first time making a turkey turned out well. We got together with some friends, which is nice because you can split up the cooking. We (by saying we, I am meaning me 🙂 ) ate entirely too much and had a nice food coma. We had a good bit of leftovers too, which is a great part of Thanksgiving. Have a great Thursday!

  2. Interesting idea to link to those who comment on your blog. I kind of like that!

Dude, a 20 lb turkey is HUGE…no wonder you had leftovers for so long. lol. I think I’d get sick of eating that much turkey, but it’s fairly flexible and you can add hot sauce or bbq which always makes it taste a little better.

    • We appreciate all the comments we receive so wanted to return the favor somehow.

I know! When I saw it at Costco I knew it was the Turkey for us. haha! We split the leftovers 4 ways and I still had enough for a few days. It was great!

  3. Thanks for including me. Man, I played some serious xbox on thanksgiving. Pretty awesome. 🙂

  4. Thanksgiving went according to schedule. We are still working on the leftovers. Last night we had turkey enchiladas. We’re starting to get desperate for new ways to prepare the leftover turkey.

Thanks for the mention, and for your support for my blog on Best Real Estate Investment Blog contest last week.

  5. Hey John, thanks for including a link to my blog – really appreciate it mate!

My gf and I cooked a turkey this thanksgiving for the first time ever…. we were terrible at it. We actually had to cancel the thanksgiving dinner and have the turkey the day after because it hadn’t defrosted in time! Ooops. Guess you live and learn!

    • Jon, sorry to hear that. I bought mine on a Sunday and just kept it defrosted in the fridge. Last year though I think it took 2 or 3 days to defrost. Hope it tasted as delicious the next day.

  6. Thanks for the mention. I wish I had leftover turkey. One of the downsides of traveling for Thanksgiving.

  7. Well that certainly makes it easier to pick who to promote. I’m glad that I finally bumped up my commenting to comment more regularly on blogs I was already reading.

  8. John, great roundup. How do I submit articles for consideration to be included in the roundup.
