Fantasy Football

I’m in 4 leagues this year. I had a draft on Monday and Tuesday, with the last 2 drafts coming this Labor day weekend. My first draft I was slotted 12th out of 12 teams. This is the worst pick you could get and from the get-go has put me in a tough spot to win. No giving up for me though! I got Eli Manning, Chris Johnson and Brandon Marshall to lead the way. As a Bears fan I’m glad Marshall fell to me and this might end up being my lone consolation in this league. In the 2nd draft I got Cam Newton, Andre Johnson and again Chris Johnson. If Cam can replicate last years stats I feel confident coming out of this league called “Champion”. There’s also a $200 stake!

For any of you that play fantasy football what are your favorite online resources for rankings, news, tips and tricks? I use Yahoo Fantasy Football and Fantasy Football Tool Box.

  1. Thanks for the mention John. I do know how to jump start a car, but I’m afraid I don’t own jumper cables. So I won’t be using that to impress the ladies anytime soon. I did have one of those portable charging kits that does the trick, but after lending it to my sister she lost the plug. Thanks sis! lol.

    • Jeremy, I’m in the same boat as you. I’ll need to stop by Autozone and grab me some jumpers in time for the weekend. You know what I’ll be doing this weekend. haha!

  2. I actually had to jump start my car a couple of weeks ago, to make matters worse, it was raining and I had my wife and baby waiting. A good skill that have! and don’t forget to pack the cables, they don’t work well if you don’t have them handy!

  3. I use Yahoo Fantasy Football. Good updates. I also like to have a few of the same players on all of my teams….less hassle following along.

I jump started a car yesterday. Yes, I know the “art.” Stay close, grasshopper.

    • Joe, you may be known as ‘average’ but you the man!

In previous years I liked having the same player across leagues for similar reasons. This year I was actually hoping to not do that though but still ended up with Chris Johnson twice. Hopefully I don’t have to draft him over the weekend.

  4. I keep a pair of jumper cables in both my car and my wife’s car. For some reason (like leaving the overhead light on while her car is parked at work), my wife’s car needs a jump more frequently than some cars, so those cables have proved their worth several times over.

And, not to brag, but I carry the 16 ft “man-size” cables, not the 12 foot “rookie” cables.

    • Terry, glad to hear you’re able to be the man for your wife on countless occasions.

Thanks for letting us know about the 16 ft man cables. I had no idea I was not geared up to impress. 🙂 Back to Autozone I go!
