The problem I have with the Jordan quote is that it ignores the fact of how many shots he has made, how many games he has one, how many game winning shots he has made mixed in with those failures.
I find the list of Abraham Lincoln’s failures to be more inspiring because, unlike Jordan, they came BEFORE he went on to become one of the most important Presidents in American history.

Right. But he had to be willing to miss those shots and lose those games in order to score the points and take the victories that he had. Without his failures he never could have succeeded.

My point was that the failures were mixed in with the successes. It’s not like he missed 29 game-winning shots in a row before making the first one.
